JOB DESCRIPTION: TEACHER, NURSERY/TODDLERS (Infants 6 weeks to 24 months)

Position Summary:

As an Teacher, you will help with planning lessons and instructing children in activities according to approved curriculum designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Sets up and maintain the classroom to ensure a safe, fun and age appropriate learning environment.
Take appropriate steps to clean and sanitize classroom, materials, and restrooms.
Be a team player; work well with others.
Flexible work schedule when needed. Reliable Attendance.
Supervise the children as required by the Center and state regulations.
Plan and conduct parent conferences; provide daily written feedback to parents as appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality of all information on children and their families.
Lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications:

Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience
Must be able to meet state background check requirements.
Knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum
Knowledge of child care licensing rules and regulations
Ability to obtain training in CPR/First Aid, Fire Extinguisher, Food Safety Handling, and other training required.
Must be willing to obtain a minimum of 24 in-service training hours per year
Must be Fluent in English

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED
DCF Transcript showing the following are completed:
- Part I (30 hours)
- Part II (10 hours)
- Early Literacy for Children Birth to Three (5 hours)

Florida Teaching Requirements:

DCF Child Care Facility Training Requirements

Experience required:

1 - 3 years teaching experience
